The story began in the 1940s, when Salvatore Lucibello, a fisherman from Positano, bought two rowing boats and started his own business.

The Amalfi Coast was very different back then. It had yet to become one of the world’s most celebrated destinations, and the sea played a practical role in everyday life, connecting local communities and making travel along the coast possible.

As the first postal ferries began arriving and more visitors started discovering the area, Salvatore recognised that Positano was changing. He began building larger boats to meet this new demand, laying the foundations for what would eventually become the Lucibello family business.

Over time, Salvatore’s children joined the business and the fleet continued to grow. Today, Lucibello remains a family-run company, carried forward by the founder’s children and grandchildren.
